Why Mark's Maps?  Why use this versus other services?  We are designed for foreigners living and visiting foreign countries.  There are serveral websites with maps which integrate businesses.  Some examples are Doko (Japan), Google Maps, Microsoft Live Maps, and so on.  These are great resources for your home country. However, they only list locations in the local language.  Searching in Tokyo shows some ramen places, but all the informaion is in Japanese.  Searching for a pub in Berlin?  All the results are in German.  Marks Maps allow people and businesses to add locations in other languages.

Mark's Maps also reaches out into the countryside.  Many of these services only provide listings for big cities.  I currently live in rural Japan, the "inaka."  Google Maps and Microsoft Live only list 3 businesses in my town.  However, with Marks Maps, I have added over 30 useful places.  Doko.jp lists many places, but I have to search for everything in Japanese. Mark's Maps allows people to add locations in their area in their languages.  So please add your own places!
